Me as a Learner
In the past years, and since I was in K4, I dreaded group projects. When I worked with a group larger than 2 (myself and my partner), nothing see,ed to work well. Many people did not work, others worked and produced sloppy things, and finally, I was the one who ended doung all the work by myself. This model disapointed me, my teachers and my groupmates. However, when I entered Ms. Shawn’s class everything took a 180 degree change. Suddenly I could work out things with my partners and “divide to conquer”. Not only could we divide pieces of work effectively, taking advantage of everyone’s skills, but we could communicate our opinions and giwve feedback to others effectively. As well, we could recieve feedback and improve our work based on it.
On a separate topic, regarding the bloom’s taxonomy, I think I learned a LOT about how the human beign learns progressively in order to fully understand a subject. Sometimes I thought the understanding and knowing steps were a little too easy to achieve, but the higher steps in the ladder (creating evaluating and analyzing) never disapointed me. The more intricate parts of the experience (because that is what learning is) always engaged me intellectually and put me on the top of my head.
In conclusion, this year, I have learned that experiences are not events that happen to you throughout your life, it is what you make of those experiences and how you use them to your advantage, to grow as a person, or develop a certain skill. I think that I have learned to learn better, and that experience will make me improve more in the future.
